30 Days of Christmas Inspiration – Day 4 – Takik the Elf

Today, I’m leaving all the inspiration making to my friend Stephanie. She and her family are playing Elf on the Shelf – I don’t know if “playing” is the right word here, but for those of you who don’t know what “Elf on the Shelf” is, let me explain.. I had never heard of it until last year when we received one for Christmas!

30 days of Christmas Inspirations – Day 3

Isn’t it nice to be able to do some crafts for the holidays, maybe to give as gifts for your friends or for children in your family – things they can keep for years to come, remembering that you took the time to make something for them?

Bruno’s Reccovery and Tony’s Surgery

This is what I've been doing in the last few months. Living this. The following is more than you will ever wanted to know about hypospadias and going through surgeries with children:

30 Days of Christmas Inspirations – Day 2

I remember going to holiday parties as a child and always wanting to try the eggnog – and people saying that I couldn’t because there was alcohol in the drink.  When I was a teenager, I was able to try the eggnog the came in the supermarket shelves during the holidays – and as I gagged on the flavor, I thought that I would never ever ever try eggnog again.

Our 30 Days of Christmas Inspirations – Day 1

Even though we've gone through a lot these past months, knowing that the holidays are here and our boys are recovering from their surgeries gives us a lot to celebrate. So I'm taking just a moment every day to be thankful and inspired for this upcoming Christmas. I hope you'll follow along with me!

Bold and Beauteous

I love the trend of bold and bright colors in the kitchen. Its even reflective of what’s going on in our wardrobes and home decor. We use neon in our shoelaces and accessories and there’s even a new move to using brighter and bolder colors on our couches and around our home – and its getting more common in the kitchen as well. There are so many colors available on […]

Come on already!

I’m trying so hard to be patient. I get up in the morning and I can see my little strawberry plant and little green strawberries on the vines. And I know that they’re growing and I have to wait until they’re ripe to be able to pick them. But I’m literally dreaming of eating my strawberries! I can’t decide what to do with them (if they actually don’t get eaten […]

Finished Friday – Starhook Case

It's been a while since you probably saw anything crochet coming from this blog, but it's been a rough couple of months. There's little time to sit down and when I do, it's because I'm actually collapsing from exhaustion. While Bruno and Tony were in their surgeries, I had some time to kill and some nerves to calm so I was able to do some crocheting. I FINALLY finished a case with a new stitch that I learned from the same blog where I picked up the pattern

Saturday Afternoon in San Telmo

This Saturday I went on a photo tour of San Telmo. I got a new camera for my birthday, a Nikon D5100. It’s my first digital slr. So, I took my time, experimented with the takes, tried to remember what photography is all about to me. It was thrilling. I had such a nice time. I remembered that I’m very observant. And that I like to overthink things. I remembered […]

A Pretty Ditty

I love looking for new songs to fill and update my ipod. These days, with Bruno's surgery, and Antonio's upcoming surgery, I think fun, uplifting songs are exactly what I need. But what's great is every once in a while when I can actually watch a video and fall in love with its color palette, rhythms and message. This is the Two Door Cinema Club, singing "Sun".

Bruno’s Missed Surgery and the Missing Sutures

So as you may have noticed, I have not written anything lately.  This is because we have been passing through a particularly stressful moment.  See, we knew since their birth that the boys would have to undergo a surgery to correct their mild hypospadias. In not so many words, essentially this surgery would circumcise the boys, but in order to do it, they needed to be at least a year […]
